Cobent Connex - Newsletter 2008 -1
Welcome to the first Cobent newsletter. It's been a very busy summer for us here at Cobent, so we've decided to send out a quarterly newsletter to keep youup to date with the latest Cobent news.
What a three months it has been! We have continued our plan to scale up all areas of the business to provide increased levels of customer satisfaction, and the efforts are paying off with exciting new clients and partners - some we have covered in this newsletter and in the international press, such as our global portal for Health and Safety training in partnership with Norwich Union Risk Services, and some we can't wait to share with you in the coming weeks.
I hope you enjoy reading our first Cobent Newsletter. Please feel free to contact marketing@cobent.com with any feedback or suggestions for future issues.
Kind Regards,
Howard Sears CEO - Cobent Limited

Over the past few months we've had significant interest in our On-the-Job (OJT) and Proficiency Training functionality. We would like to take the opportunity to highlight the benefits of managing On-the-Job Training with the Cobent LCS.
OJT covers all ‘non-formal' training where peer review or documented evidence is required to register that a person is competent to perform a task. A recent study by CIPD found that over 50% of training was conducted On-the-Job. Many organisations find it to be one of the most effective methods of training that influenced post-training behaviour. However for many organisations formally managing the process, in order to assess training effectiveness and to identify proficiency gaps, is difficult.
Cobent's LCS OJT module provides organisations with the functionality to record notes, evidence and results of practical training sessions, which are stored against an individual employee's training records. Entries can be either submitted by the supervisor, trainer or trainee; and optionally automatically sent to qualified personnel for validation and sign-off, if required by thecompanytraining model.
If you would like to find out more about how the OJT functionality could help with your training requirements please contact us for further details on +44 (0) 208 973 4092.

AAH Pharmaceuticals, the UK's leading pharmaceutical wholesaler, is making it easier and quicker for pharmacists to use their electronic Minor Ailment Scheme system in Scottish Pharmacies and improve services to patients. AAH is using the Cobent Learning Compliance Suite (LCS) to develop and deploy simple-to-use e-learning courses that are on hand 24/7 to pharmacists using LINKEvolution, AAH's prescription management software. It will be the first e-learning solution for a prescription management application in the UK.
Cobent LCS will help pharmacists learn how to use LINKEvolution faster and provide them with an easy-to-access resource for future learning and reference. Because users can increase their knowledge of the LINK system and its functionality, Cobent LCS is expected to reduce the number of support calls AAH receives from customers. Cobent LCS will also enable AAH to provide all Scottish customers, even in remote locations, with a consistent and high level of training and ensure training and information of LINKEvolution upgrades is delivered to customers quickly.
