What a great year it has been for Cobent. Despite the difficult trading environment we have still continued to grow, signing up new clients, new partners, strengthening our relationships with existing clients through exclusive contract wins and expanding our team to help with the increasing demand for our solutions.

Half way through the year we announced that sales for the first half year, when compared with the first half of 2008 had increased by almost 30%; and now we are pleased to announce that we are continuing on this trend with significant increases in both revenues and profits for the second half the year. One of our key achievements for the year has been the launch of LMS Select, our new modular learning management system. We’ve already seen huge interest in the market for LMS Select and we will continue to build on its early successes. Finally, in this edition, we are excited to share with you some exciting news about new developments in the US.

Cobent partner with Fairway Compliance to offer training compliance solutions to the financial services industry.


We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with specialist financial consulting experts Fairway Compliance to offer training solutions specifically designed to reduce the administrative burden of meeting FSA regulatory requirements.

Fairway Compliance brings 12 years of financial compliance experience to the partnership, having worked closely with the FSA and a range of retail financial services firms including IFA's, Wealth Management Firms, Life Companies and Banks. The organisation is dedicated to helping financial firms protect and enhance business value by identifying and managing regulatory compliance risk.

Paul Scott, the Founder and Director of Fairway Compliance, commented “Across the regulatory spectrum, it is generally accepted that improving your staff’s knowledge is a key way to minimise your firm’s risk. We are delighted to be working with Cobent and are confident that together we can help organisations address key regulatory challenges such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and forthcoming challenges relating to the Retail Distribution Review (RDR).”

This partnership will further leverage Cobent’s extensive experience in the market, having provided solutions for some of the industry’s strongest brands including Aviva, Barclays Bank and The Change Group. In consultation with Fairway Compliance, Cobent aims to provide purpose-built solutions to help financial institutions avoid regulatory enforcement through delivery and recording of training relating to key regulatory topics such as Financial Crime and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).



New Client Win Highlight - Worldwide Clinical Trials


Adding to our portfolio of FDA-regulated Life Science/Biotechnology firms, we are would like to take this opportunity to briefly highlight one of our most recent client wins – Worldwide Clinical Trials (WCT)

WCT is a global provider of contract clinical research services providing early and late stage drug development services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with a primary focus in the areas of cardiovascular and central nervous system medicine. They also have significant experience in Chronic Inflammatory Disease, Metabolic / Endocrinology and Oncology.

Early last month, WCT signed a contract with Cobent to implement Cobent LCS, helping them to automate employee compliance training. Further details will appear on our website soon.

Cobent opens offices in the US


We are excited to exclusively reveal to our customers and partners, the opening of our new US office, based in Austin, Texas. As part of the increased interest in the US for quality compliance training systems and our strategic plans to enhance support for our US clients, we have significantly expanded our US sales presence, headed by Mark Sanmarco, Cobent’s newly appointed Executive Vice President of Sales for the Americas. Sanmarco brings more than 15 years of enterprise level sales and sales management experience to Cobent and is responsible for sales, strategic partnerships and reseller relationships in North and South America.

Sanmarco commented "Throughout my career, I have worked for technology companies that were well positioned in emerging growth areas.
